Dry Needle Therapy

Dry Needle Therapy

Dry needle therapy is a therapeutic and harmless method with no side effects. The needle gets this name because it does not contain any medicine. Therefore, allergic conditions, drug interactions and side effects are not seen in dry needling treatment.

Dry needle therapy is most commonly applied in Myofascial Pain Syndrome, also called Muscular Rheumatism.

This method is also used in some tendinitis, local pain pathologies, shortened muscle syndromes.

Apart from this, permanent results are obtained in Neck and Lumbar Hernia, Shoulder Pain and Shoulder Periarthritis (Adhesive Capsulitis - Frozen Shoulder), sometimes alone and sometimes together with physical therapy.
Dry needle treatment is planned in certain sessions after the patient is examined and diagnosed, and it is recommended to reduce the activities of that region during the treatment. Both inspection and dry needling require experience and expertise. The duration of the treatment, that is, the number of sessions, varies according to the width of the area where the problem is located, how old the problem is, the age of the patient, and whether it is accompanied by other ailments. Sometimes a single session is enough. It is most often planned as 3-5 sessions. In rare cases, it can take 8-10 sessions. It is usually applied as 1 session per week.

Success in treatment is quite high (92-95%) and the results are satisfactory. In unresponsive or resistant cases (5-8%), there is usually another underlying pathology. However, this condition is usually detected during the first examination and the treatment is planned accordingly.
